Cathay Pacific has extended the cancellation of its passenger flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh through 31 January 2027, affecting travellers planning journeys between Hong Kong and the two Middle Eastern cities.
In an advisory updated on 28 September 2026, the airline said the decision followed developments in the Middle East. Cathay said affected passengers can rebook, change their route or request a refund, and that it will continue to monitor the situation.
Cathay’s flexible ticket conditions waive rebooking, rerouting and refund charges for eligible existing bookings. A new itinerary may still cost more if its fare or taxes are higher.
The published conditions cover eligible tickets issued on or before 28 September 2026 for original departures from 28 September 2026 to 31 March 2027. Changes must be made by 31 March 2027, with travel completed by 31 May 2027, subject to seat availability. For Dubai or Riyadh, the ticket must be for a Cathay Pacific operated flight. Travellers who booked through a travel agent should contact that agent to arrange changes.
Passengers should check their individual booking and Cathay’s latest advisory before making new plans, as the airline says it is continuing to review the situation.
