Former TVB actress and presenter Snowy Bai has announced that she is in a relationship with a 22-year-old German pilot, sharing photographs of the couple travelling together in Europe.
Bai, 38, made the announcement on social media on 2 October. In an accompanying message, she described the difficulties of maintaining a relationship across continents and communicating in a language neither partner speaks as their first language.
She said she was born in 1988 and her boyfriend in 2004, giving them a 16-year age difference. Addressing the gap, she described him as mature and herself as childish.
Her boyfriend lives in Europe, while she is based in Asia. He speaks German and she speaks Mandarin, with the couple using English to communicate.
Bai said they had spent a lengthy period apart during the relationship. She acknowledged that distance and language had posed challenges, but said their shared interests had helped them connect and their English had improved.
The photographs showed the couple on a gondola in Venice, riding in a horse-drawn carriage and embracing near a small aircraft at sunset. Other images featured visits to Disneyland, a cathedral and a wildlife park.
Hong Kong media identified her boyfriend as a German pilot. Bai also drew attention to their interest in aviation, saying he enjoys flying aircraft while she enjoys being a passenger.
Bai left TVB in 2020 and has since worked as a diving instructor and content creator. She was previously married to Hong Kong architect Kelvin Kong. Their five-year marriage ended in divorce in 2021.
The announcement marks the actress’s public confirmation of the relationship, although she did not specify when the couple first began dating.
